What’s The Difference Between Regulated Mods and Unregulated Mods?

There are vaporizer modifications popping up all over the place. If you’re an experienced in the world of vaping, you’ve likely either had or considered getting a mod for your e-cig. When you browse the internet, there’s a lot of talk about Regulated Mods versus Unregulated Mods. Some people are all for the Regulated Mods while Unregulated Mods have their fan club too. But what’s the difference between these two styles of e-cig mods? Is one better than the other?

Regulated Mods:

These mods are usually called “box mods” and they offer protection from damaging your mod. Their main focus is battery preservation and safety. If the battery of these mods registers too low, they will show an error and usually not allow you to continue your vaping session. In order to continue vaping, you will need to charge your battery or switch the battery to one that is fully charged. You could also plug in the battery into its charger and vape when the battery gets to an appropriate and safe level of strength.

Another feature of a regulated mod is that it regulates the amount that you get every time you inhale or take a “hit”. An example would be if you have your mod set to 20 watts, each time you would take a hit from your vape, 25 watts would be released.

Regulated mods are focused a lot on safety. You cannot over inhale, nor will you risk damage by vaping when the battery is too low.

Unregulated Mods:

Unregulated mods focus more on the experience of vaping. There is no regulation when you inhale, meaning that you are in complete control. Experienced vapers enjoy the freedom. But with freedom comes very big risk.

What’s The Difference Between Regulated Mods and Unregulated Mods?

Since you won’t get an alert when your battery is low, nor will it stop allowing you to vape, you run the risk of overheating the battery and causing battery acid to leak.

Neither the regulated mod not the unregulated mod is “better” than the other. Of course, the regulated mod is much better when it comes to safety. If you’re someone who wants to have the freedom of an unregulated vaporizer, then just make sure you are very safe. There are ohm readers and multi-meters that you can buy to make sure that you are vaping in the safest possible way on your battery.
